Courtney and Suzy’s San Francisco destination wedding was a relaxed and chic affair. Held at San Francisco’s beautiful and historic City Hall, their ceremony was performed at the top of the marble staircase, surrounded not only by their family but also by a crowd of cheerful spectators. Later in the evening, instead of a traditional reception, the girls took their family with them on a sunset dinner cruise around the bay.
It was such an amazing feeling to have strangers clapping and supporting us on our special day.
“This part of the process was probably the most difficult for us to decide on. We both knew we didn’t want to wear wedding gowns, but after trying on dozens of pant suits, we knew that look didn’t fit our style either. We finally both settled on white dress shirts and dress slacks, and put more focus on our accessories. Suzy is obsessed with leather goods, and had both her belt and shoes handmade by some of her favorite leather companies. We chose pink and purple orchids to add a splash of color. We also really wanted to have our hair and makeup done by a professional, because who doesn’t want to look their best on their wedding day.”
“The greatest memories of the day for Courtney were the moments immediately following our “first looks”. We spent the entire morning in hotel rooms across from one another with the anticipation of seeing each other in that first moment. Emotions were at an all time high, but the second I saw Suzy my heart stopped and my jaw dropped. The overwhelming sense of calm I had in that instant made me realize just how lucky I am to have her. Suzy’s favorite moment was turning around after we exchanged our vows & seeing the crowd of strangers clapping and smiling at us. We live in a state where we are not very free to be openly affectionate, so it was an emotional moment to realize that people were actually cheering and celebrating our love.”
“Be true to yourselves. Don’t wear or do anything that doesn’t feel authentic to you. This is your big day and you should be comfortable, happy, and surrounded by those who love and support you. We feel the best decision we made was our choice in photographer. The moments captured that day will last a lifetime. Although your wedding day is going to be one of the best days of your life, it is also one of the most hectic, and having the right photographer is invaluable.”
“Choosing our photographer was actually the easiest decision we made for our wedding. Having been friends with Steph for a few years, we were both very familiar with her work and how amazing her photography skills are. In all honesty, we chose our wedding date based on her availability. Other than the few traditional posed shots, Steph has a way of capturing the most honest and candid moments.”
