So you’ve fallen in love and you decide to ask her to marry you. It’s Christmas morning and you gather up the courage to propose to her… in front of her entire family. She accepts, of course. Laughter and happiness ensues from you, your FIANCE and her family. Then you both decide to elope. Why elope under a waterfall? “We wanted to focus on our grand love in this epic location. The roar of the waterfall in the background was a perfect match for our racing hearts (due to excitement, not nervousness). It was all about just being with each other, intimate embraces and celebratory laughter.”

Today on F* Yeah is Bethany and Katie’s elopement, of epic proportions, with some DIY and a fucking waterfall. But first a little on these cuties…

The Couple

Katie: “We met via Instagram (!) in 2012. Bethany was (and is) in the military and we did long distance until we could meet in person, then both moved across the country together and have been inseparable ever since.”

The Outfits

“I wore a lace dress from Rent The Runway with nude flats, and did my own hair and make-up. Bethany wore pants and shirt from H&M with a vintage Levi’s denim jacket.”

The Day

“It was cold, wet, and freezing, but the love you feel just from being near them is comparable to the raw force of the rushing water behind them.”

Sooooo where are the ceremony pictures? The ceremony wasn’t covered, for good reasons… the planner and photographer were busy doubling as witnesses, the officiant, the baker and flower arranger. Talk about utilising all of your resources, nifty! :D

Wedding planning tips for the readers:

“Hire a planner! Even though we weren’t doing a full scale traditional wedding, having a planner helped so much to know what we needed to do, what to expect, etc., and allowed us not to stress and just enjoy getting married, which is the whole reason we decided to elope.”

Marrying the love of your life doesn’t have to kill your budget, nor does it have to include hundreds of people. The most important element to your wedding is each other… and maybe choosing a waterfall as your backdrop is as well.

Epic congrats to Bethany and Katie and to the people who made the day possible… Kandice @ Rose & Stone and Amy Jo @ Amy Jo Wisehart Photography. Show them some love in the comments below xxxx.

Fun facts: I'm a "loud" little Latin gurl. I heart my label maker as much as I do my partner. I also like red things, leg-day and red velvet everything. My daily vocab includes "have you eaten?", "I love you" and "I farted"... not all at once or in that order. If I'm not talking to you about feelings I'd be helping you organise something.
