It’s not very often that you hear of a photographer who is enticed by an image of a couple on Instagram and contacts them immediately with ‘you must let me photograph you’ question! Today’s portrait session is of an adorable couple, Max and Nico. And you can clearly see why Daniel (of Daniel Koehler Fotografie) was inspired by the love that he witnessed between these 2 newly couple lovebirds.
Max (with darker hair) and Nico (blonde hair) are two young and gorgeous boys who fell in love almost at first sight. Although they have been together for less than a year, their love seems to transcend that and fits within each other like an old couple who have been together for years and years.
Nico has been a Champion rower and has been rowing for 10 years now. “Outside my sports life, my boyfriend, my friends and my family mean everything to me.”
“Max is not as sporty as Nico but he still supports his partner’s passion. Max moved from a small South-west German town to be a Cityslicker in Leipzig.” Which is also where they met.
“We met when I (Max) was searching for an apartment in Leipzig. When I finally found an apartment I was going to a party with a friend and there I met Nico and I immediately had a crush on him. I just saw him and… wow!”
The location, an abandoned industrial area in Leipzig, was chosen by their photographer. Daniel goes on… “I was searching for a location that didn’t dominate the couple – the couple and their emotions should be at the forefront. I chose a lost place in the suburban area of Leipzig with it’s shut down machineries and wide spaces.”
“For me the location is often just the background but for this shoot the emotions and moments between the two are the most significant things.”
Max and Nico said about Daniel: “We were really excited and very happy that Daniel found us on Instagram. He made a road trip across the country to find us! He made us feel very comfortable and knew how to advise us on posing for the photos.”
This is what F* Yeah and I live for… promoting the love between two people, in their rawest and most vulnerable form via beautiful imagery. Max and Nico’s love coupled with Daniel’s stunning work really does demonstrate the beautiful thing that is having a love for someone and a passion for your craft.
Please give Max and Nico (and Daniel) some love below in the comments xx.
