Today’s wedding inspiration, by Mad Dash Pop-Up Weddings, is a moody and modern styled shoot that is richly robust in colours and details, with a tempting sweets table to boot!

Mad Dash Pop-Up Weddings are a “cutting edge I-Do alternative appeals to any trendsetting, posh couple with a passion for spontaneity, putting a fanciful spin on a time-honored tradition.”

Desserts + Catering
“Classic wedding cake? No way. Try a caramel-marble cake with botanical details alongside scratch made donuts, chocolate covered cheesecake bites and French macaroons.”

Breaking Tradition
According to Southern custom, to keep rain away from your wedding day, you bury a new bottle of Bourbon at the couple’s wedding venue site or location. The Mad Dash team incorporated this tradition along side other non-traditional, such as a getaway motorbike.

“Basic getaway car? Nope. Only a badass motorcycle was worthy of this shoot.Round sweetheart table with standard linen? Forget it! How about a custom made table built using aged NC trees.”

“The shoot featured real-life couple Matt and Ryan, both of whom sport handsome beards, complementing the shoot’s folksy feel.”

“In their spare time, the couple volunteer with local LGBTQ organizations in both Raleigh and Charlotte, frequents local farmers markets and travel as often as possible!”

“Since the shoot was to feature a pop-up style local elopement for Mad Dash Pop-Up Weddings, we chose Mad Dash’s staple venue the Mims House as a location.”

“The team partnered with Kimberly Rhoades of Nine 19 Photography (another fellow rule breaker) to design a masculine, moody, modern style pop-up that would appeal to any edgey engaged couple.”

Styling + Props Hire
“Staying true to rebellious form, the Mad Dash team wanted to style a shoot that broke free of the overly popular airy, blush, and soft wedding style trends.”

“The team decided to reference elements such as marble, leather and acrylic for design inspiration, and to incorporate metallic pops for added detail.”

All of the collaborating vendors on this shoot are LGBTQ friendly. Yay! “We aren’t all bigot assholes who support hateful discrimination laws here in North Carolina. Mad Dash, as well as all of this styled shoot’s participating vendors has, is and will always be supportive and active in the LGBTQ community.”

“When styling a shoot, event, or person, stay true to your original spark of inspiration for design magic! Pull from colors, elements, textures, objects and oddities that relate to your vision. Keep an open mind, think outside the box, and watch the beauty unfold!”

If it’s some edgy pop-up wedding inspiration that you’re after today’s styled shoot has got you covered!

Fun facts: I'm a "loud" little Latin gurl. I heart my label maker as much as I do my partner. I also like red things, leg-day and red velvet everything. My daily vocab includes "have you eaten?", "I love you" and "I farted"... not all at once or in that order. If I'm not talking to you about feelings I'd be helping you organise something.
